Veteran's Benefits

Audubon Funeral Home is proud to serve our United States’ Veterans and their families. We are located minutes away from Southeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery.  Please specify when making arrangements if your loved one was an active or an honorably discharged veteran. They may be eligible to receive additional benefits such as: An American flag, a government issued grave marker, Presidential Memorial Certificate, and a burial space in the nearest National Cemetery for the veteran and his/her spouse. Your director will be able to assist you with these claims and any questions you may have.  Please bring the veteran’s DD-214 or discharge papers with you to the arrangement meeting. For additional information and possible monetary benefits, you may request an appointment at the local Veterans Affairs Office at 520 Old Spanish Trail, Slidell, LA 70458 (985) 645-3500 or call the National Office of Veterans Affairs at 1-800-827-1000.

Fallen Heroes Program

The family and staff of Audubon Funeral Home salute the men and women who fight to defend our freedom, protect our families, and ensure our safety. We are committed to honoring these noble individuals with utmost respect and dignity. In the event that a police officer, firefighter, or member of the Armed Forces dies in the line of duty, we will waive our Professional Service Fee and provide a complementary video tribute in remembrance of those who make the ultimate sacrifice for their country and community.
