David Keith “Chip” Broome of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away the morning of Monday, January 24, 2022 at the age of 46. He was a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle.
David was preceded in death by his father, Billy Lee Broome; mother, Nancy Quay Davis; brother, Kevin Lee Broome; and his niece, Samantha Quay Mcginnis.
He is survived by his two children, Liem Takaota Broome and Shiloh Misae Broome; ex-wife, Jessica Anne Guntner Broome; three sisters, Jenny Bates, Emma Broome, and Lizetta Metcalf; three nephews, Turner Metcalf, Jack Opper, and Will Opper; and three nieces, Megan Mcginnis, Grace Opper, and Claire Opper.
David was the kind of person that was always on the move. If it was as a family man, he was fixing a feast of a meal. If it was at work, he was building a jungle and making art. If it was as a friend, it was with humor and love. David loved to travel and share his experiences and he was never without a story or advice. He constantly gave his heart and soul into any situation he approached. Not only is David survived by his family but also by everyone who he called a friend. We love you and will miss you bunches.
Cherokee Prayer
Hold onto what is good, even if it a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe, even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do, even if it is a long way from here.
Hold onto life, even when it is easier letting go.
Hold onto my hand, even when I have gone away from you.
A celebration of David’s life will take on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
