Obituary of Kathryn Jeannette Wilson
Having completed her own life’s work to better the lives of those she knew, Mrs. Kathryn Simpson Wilson, at the age of 49, was called home to be with our Lord on February 28, 2020, while surrounded by her loving family in Slidell, Louisiana. Kathryn was born on December 22, 1970 in Slidell to Agnes Gundling Simpson and Augustus “Bert” Albert Simpson Jr. She most recently resided in Bristow, Virginia for over seventeen years. Kathryn was married and was the beloved wife to Russell Branden Wilson for nearly twenty-six years and the adored mother to Fox Connor Wilson, Maxwell Riley Wilson, and Jeannette Isabella Wilson. She was also the loving sister to Michael Albert Simpson, Elizabeth “Lisa” Simpson D’Aunoy, Anne Simpson Gunter, Theresa Simpson Stanley, and Stephen Augustus Simpson. She was a 1993 graduate of the University of New Orleans, and she thoroughly enjoyed reading, exercise, and devoting time to her church and friends, but above all, being an incredible mother to her three children and the most remarkable wife to have ever lived. Upon graduating college, Kathryn enjoyed working as a civilian employee with the U.S. Air Force in San Antonio, Texas. She held a management position in officers’ club administration from 1993 until 1999, when following the birth of her first child, she committed her life to one as a devoted homemaker and spouse, as well as, a talented teacher, something revealed after successfully and lovingly home-schooling her three children.
Kathryn was a brilliantly shining example of what is the very best of humanity, love, and genuine caring. Her memory will always be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her, and thus, she will be missed by so very many.
