Obituary of Warren “Butch” Stanley Lemley
Warren “Butch” Stanley Lemley, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on January 18, 2021 at the age of 69. He is a native of Metairie, Louisiana, born on September 24, 1951 to Laura and Warren J. Lemley who preceded him in death. Butch is the beloved father of Alicia Lemley and Brandon Lemley (Brittney); adored grandfather of Lyssa Lemley; caring companion of Diane; loving brother of Gail Monroe, Cynthia Ranero, Brenda Nailling (John), and Pamela J. Lemley. He is also survived by his former wife of 25 years, Pamela Moran Beard.
Butch graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1969 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly afterwards. He proudly served his country from 1969 to 1972, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge. Warren later attended LSUNO and Loyola University. He worked for many years as a respected and diligent accountant and nursing home administrator. Most recently, he was employed by Palace Truck Stop and Casino as both an accountant and general manager. In his spare time, he owned and operated Business Office Services and Systems, Inc. (B.O.S.S.) Accounting Firm.
Butch was a member of the Marine Corps League Paul E. Boyd Post 579, American Legion, Krewe of Ceasar, and the Tau Kappa Beta Fraternity. Warren was a lifelong member of the 1 Love United Methodist Church of Kenner, attended Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, and most recently attended First United Methodist Church of Slidell. He also sat on the school board of Our Lady of Divine Providence Elementary School of Metairie for many years. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, his church, politics, computers, good conversation, and anything to do with the Marine Corps.
All who knew Butch knew he put forward a tough demeanor, but had an extraordinarily tremendous heart. He loved life, loved his family and friends, and enjoyed social gatherings with them. He was a kind and loving father and devoted grandfather. His impact to the people around him was immeasurable. While his presence will be greatly missed, his memories will always be Forever.
