Obituary of Audrey Mayfield Pearson

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Audrey Mayfield Pearson at the age of 86 on March 25, 2021. The daughter of Audrey Crawford Mayfield and Thomas Dewitt Mayfield, she was a lifelong resident of Slidell, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph H. Pearson, her parents, and her brother, Thomas Dewitt Mayfield II.

Audrey loved spending time in the kitchen, expressing her love by creating delicious meals and desserts for her family and friends. She was a talented crafter and an avid gardener who worked with paint, brass, and concrete and also enjoyed making porcelain dolls, clothing, and home and garden décor.

After retiring from her job as a secretary at Carolyn Park Middle School, she opened up her home to continue her passion for caring for infants and toddlers well into her 70’s.

Missing her generous spirit will be her daughter, Leslie Johnson (Johnny); her son, Kevin Pearson (Nancy); her grandchildren, Adam Pearson, Alex Johnson, Heather Palazzo (Mark), and Rebecca Martin (Randy); her great-grandson, Nico; her sister, Susan Doll (Bob); and her nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation (adhering to social distancing guidelines) on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.  A funeral service in Audrey’s honor will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Audrey will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery in Slidell following the services.
