Obituary of Robert “Bobby” Chester Flick Jr.
Robert “Bobby” Chester Flick Jr. passed away peacefully, with his faithful and loyal friend Rocky Flick by his side, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his home in Slidell. He was 54. Bobby was born December 19, 1966 at Old Lakeside Hospital in Metairie and was a resident of Slidell, Louisiana. He is survived by his son, Bradley W. Flick; his parents, Phyllis R. Claffey and Robert C. Flick Sr. (Martha) and step-mother, Martha T. Flick; a sister, Sandra F. Mesa (Ricardo); a brother, Daniel “Danny” Schmolke (Kristen); and half-sister, Alicia M. Daigneault (Scott). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Nicholas Bernal, Mckaela Mesa, Domenic Mesa, and Lucas Daigneault and numerous relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Chester W. “Bill” Flick, Josephine M. Towle, Frank V. Towle, Dolores J. Randall, and William E. Randall and a close friend, Bart Daniels.
Bobby attended Our Lady of Divine Providence for elementary school and went on to graduate high school at Slidell High School. Bobby’s cousin and childhood best friend was Michael Chaisson, and they continued being close throughout Bobby’s adulthood. As a young man, Bobby invested in real estate and worked in technology services. He went on to be employed at Cox Communications for over 15 years and retired in 2015. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and sports fan. Bobby’s favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. Bobby was also a dog lover and developed strong relationships with each of his dogs, Bailey and Rocky. Bobby was also a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. Most of all, Bobby loved spending time with his son Bradley. He will be remembered for his love of family, wildlife, adventure, and the outdoors. Bobby will be missed by all those who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held at Audubon Funeral Home located at 61101 Hwy 11 in Slidell, LA 70458 on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donations and Fundraising | MD Anderson Cancer Center, Skin Cancer Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
