Obituary of Darlene Marie Fischer
Darlene Marie Fischer, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on May 19, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71. She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on December 19, 1949 to the late Mary LaMarca Fischer and Paul Eugene Fischer Jr. Darlene leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her spouse of 50 years, Cheryl Sterken Fischer; children, Paul Eugene Fischer IV (Crystal B. Fischer) and Kerri Fischer Terranova (Tony M. Terranova) ; grandchildren, Mason Paul Eugene Fischer, Jax Eugene Terranova, Stella Luna Terranova, and Cameron Volletine; and siblings, Gregory Anthony Fischer, Paulette Frances Fischer, and David Keith Mercer.
Darlene is a graduate of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans and the University of Southern Mississippi. She was the prior owner of Fischer’s, Inc., Roofing Contractors. Darlene was an avid Saints fan and had a passion for travel and both water skiing and snow skiing. She enjoyed many summers with family and friends at her camp on Lake Catherine. Her family will fondly remember her love for large family gatherings and extravagant outdoor Christmas decorations. Darlene loved nothing more than being with her family, especially attending activities for her children and grandchildren. She previously coached baseball and soccer for son and daughter at Kenilworth Playground and loved following and watching her grandson play travel baseball.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A prayer service will begin in the parlor at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene’s memory to the Slidell Memorial Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund located at 1111 Gause Blvd., Slidell, LA 70458 are preferred.
