Obituary of David Joseph Peltier
David “Dave” Peltier, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on May 24, 2021 at the age of 46. He was born on April 19, 1975 to his loving parents, Alana Peliter and Curlis “Spanky” Peltier Jr. Dave is the beloved husband of April Eaton Peltier; cherished father of Sadie Peltier, Lyndsay Peltier, Katelynn Peltier, and Keira Peltier; proud grandfather of Scarlett Elizabeth; and caring brother of Patricia Mahnke. Dave is also survived by his Uncle Drew, who was his morning coffee buddy and like a father to him.
Dave was employed as a commercial fisherman and foreman and was a mechanic by trade. Known as “The Original Swamp Rat” by his close friends and family, Dave had a passion for hunting, fishing, farming, catfishing, frogging, and crawfishing. He will fondly be remembered for being a hard worker, extremely helpful, and for making those around him laugh by making poems of Cavan (aka Teacup or BB) or making fun of Lauren, his favorite Chalmation . Dave also enjoyed playing pool and Blackjack, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was an amazing father and grandfather, not just to his kids but to everyone he met. They will forever cherish his memory.
