Obituary of Donald “Don/Donnie” Hostetler
Donald “Don/Donnie” Hostetler, age 68 of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on August 3, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Don was born in Massillon, Ohio to Donald and Marilyn Hostetler on February 16, 1953. He graduated from Washington High School in Massillon in 1971. Don was a true salesman, craftsman, and artisan. He spent several years in sales, followed by home restoration, and then found his true passion of woodworking and custom furniture design. Don’s cypress furniture graces many homes and businesses throughout the Northshore, Gulf Coast, and Greater New Orleans. Don was a unique individual whose wit, character, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by his long time, devoted companion, Dorothy Bennett and her family; his sister, Holly Beitzel (Mike); and brothers, Bill (Ann) and Gary (Ralph). He is also survived by his nephew, Justin Beitzel (Sarah) and their children, Addison and Callie; his niece, Jessica Beitzel (Brian); and his nephew, Max Hostetler (Meaghan). He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Marilyn Hostetler.
