Obituary of Kayo C. Serpas Sr.
Kayo C. Serpas Sr., 62, died peacefully August 4, 2021, at his sister’s home in Slidell, Louisiana. He was born on October 18, 1958, in New Orleans, LA, the son of Noelie Mildred Fraychineaud, Claude James Serpas Sr., and stepson of Grady Lloyd Elliot.
Kayo grew up in New Orleans where he attended school at George Washington Elementary. From birth, he had his own special way of bringing laughter and mischief to others. In life, he became highly passionate and proficient at operating heavy equipment such as excavators and bulldozers, always impressing those around him with his precision and ingenuity. He shared, with friends and family, his love for raising chickens and making people laugh. In his spare time, he enjoyed making various kinds of beef jerky for an extra buck. His sly smile and quick wittedness will be remembered often and fondly.
He leaves behind a son, Kayo Curtis Serpas Jr.; a daughter, Stacy Lynn Ryan and her husband, Cody Lee Ryan; four grandchildren, Jorden Laurence Serpas, Harley Ray Madere, Jersey Rayne Ryan, and Jerney Skye Ryan; and his brothers and sisters, Claudia Jane Serpas Pilet, Claude James Serpas Jr., Gaynell Rose Serpas Crue, Michael Thomas Serpas, and Louis Joseph Serpas; as well as his mother, Noelie Mildred Fraychineaud. He was predeceased by his brother, Tommy Albert Serpas; his father, Claude James Serpas; and stepfather, Grady Lloyd Elliot.
Seek God’s Kingdom and He will give you the things you need. Mathew 6:33
