Obituary of Cuba Fox Mangus Jr.

Cuba Fox Mangus Jr., of Slidell, Louisiana, went to his Heavenly home on August 18, 2021 while at home with his wife by his side.  He was 74. He was a native of Chicago, Illinois, born on January 17, 1947 to his loving parents, the late Anne Mangus and Cuba Mangus Sr.  Cuba is the beloved husband of Marty Mangus; cherished father of Julie Rhinehart and Kimberly Mangus; proud grandfather of Hayley Lynn Ma; and brother of John Anders Mangus.  He is also survived by many friends and extended family whom will miss him dearly.

Cuba attended the University of South Dakota, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Elementary and Special Education.  He taught Special Education in South Dakota, Texas, and Louisiana over a 25 year period.  He retired and became an avid gardener and loved his “park.”  He loved nothing more than spending time with his family.

In honor of his life, a visitation for Cuba Mangus will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church located at 16333 Highway 1085 in Covington, Louisiana.
