Obituary of Dorothy “Dotsy” Pecot Chedville

Dorothy “Dotsy” Pecot Chedville, of Pearl River, Louisiana, passed away on August 29, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 8, 1938 to her loving parents, the late Albert Louis Pecot and Conchetta Vicari Pecot. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Elden John Chedville.

Dotsy leaves behind, to cherish her memory, two children, Angel Chedville Thoman (Leonard) and Jack Louis Chedville (Julie); her precious grandchildren, Heather Lynn Thoman and Josh Louis Chedville (Amanda); her brother, Jack Louis Pecot (Lorraine); and many more extended family members and dear friends.

Dotsy was a graduate of Annunciation High School in New Orleans, Louisiana with the Class of 1956 and a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was employed with the Jefferson Parish Public School System for 27 years before retiring, also serving as treasurer on the Jefferson Parish School Food Service Association. Dotsy was a founding member of the Big Easy Camping Cajuns and she enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and her best friends. She and her husband, Elden, enjoyed traveling to almost all fifty states in their fifth wheel. Dotsy was a member of many antique auto clubs including the St. Bernard Antique Auto Club, Slidell Antique Auto Club, and the North Shore A’s, where she visited many states to attend various car shows. In addition, she loved playing cards with her Pearl River card group and her high school friends.  Dotsy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home located in Slidell.  A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
