Obituary of Wendy Christine Freyder Hastings

Wendy Christine Freyder Hastings, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on August 29, 2021 at the age of 48.  She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, recently moved to Florida, born on May 24, 1973 to her loving parents, Michael Louis Freyder and Naomi Smith Freyder.  Wendy is the beloved wife of 24 years to Wesley Farrell Hastings; cherished mother of John Wesley Hastings and Lisa Michelle Hastings; treasured grandmother of Vanessa Elise Estaves; caring sister of Michael Louis Freyder Jr. and wife, Malinda Quong Freyder; and aunt of Caleb Michael Freyder and Kailey Elizabeth Freyder.

Wendy graduated from Southeastern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.  Her passion for all things Disney led her to pursue a career at Walt Disney World in Orlando.  Wendy loved art, writing, history, but nothing more than the time she spent with her kids and only granddaughter.  They were her heart and soul and will forever cherish her memory.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home located in Slidell, Louisiana.  A funeral service will begin in the chapel at 4:00 p.m.  Wendy will be laid to rest in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
