Obituary of Sheila Green Guidry

Sheila Green Guidry, of Pearl River, Louisiana, passed away on October 6, 2021 next to the love of her life at the age of 65.  She was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, on June 19, 1956 to her loving parents, the late Doris Moran Broadway and Cleaborne Green. She was raised in Robeline, Louisiana.

Sheila is the beloved wife of 43 years to Cedric E. Guidry Jr.; cherished mother of Tawnya Mitchell Crabtree (David), Tracy Darlene Mitchell (Toma), Shelley Marie Burbank (Miguel), Joseph Edward Guidry (Kristie);  proud grandmother of Jonathan (Chelsea), Amber (Kevin), Christopher, Macy (Zack), Tina, Angele, Marcus, Dustin, Deidra, Nolan, Dasia, Mark, Victoria, Brianna, Francelly, McKayla (Aundre), Koby, Landon, and Abigail; great-grandmother of 20 great-grandchildren; sister of Charles R. Green (Madonna); godmother of James Q. Holifield and Ricky Gros Jr.; granddaughter of Charles Edward Moran, Lillie Mae Mitchell Moran, Travis Thomas Green, and Ethel Tyson Green; and daughter-in-law of Cedric and Delores Guidry.  She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly. We cannot forget her shadow, Scrappy.

Sheila attended L.W. Higgins High School and was a home health care nurse and spent many years as a devoted mother, spouse, and homemaker.  She loved dancing when she was younger and found peace in reading and writing stories. Sheila spent many years researching genealogy and tracing back her family tree. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and hosting dinners at her home. Sheila will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.  A wake will be held at Rocky Mount Church in Robeline, Louisiana on Monday, October 11, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will be ongoing until Sheila is laid to rest at a graveside service in Rocky Mount Cemetery on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
