Obituary of Lorraine Myers Brashear

Lorraine Myers Brashear, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on October 9, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born on December 10, 1939 in Merrill, Oregon, to the late Charley Burt Myers and Doris Lorraine Myers. Lorraine grew up in the Rattlesnake Hills region of Sunnyside, Grandview and Prosser in Washington. She was a Navy wife for over 32 years. She lived in several states across the country before settling down in Slidell, Louisiana.

Lorraine is beloved mother of Vincent J. Brashear (Carol), Michael C. Brashear (Stephanie), Linda Brashear Rogers (Brian), Jack L. Brashear II (Erica), and Eric J. Brashear (Dianne); treasured grandmother of Torry Brashear, Cameron Brashear, Stephen Brashear, Daniel Brashear, Andrew Brashear, Selena Phillips, Ian Brashear, Owen Brashear, and Jule Brashear, Jacob Brashear; great-grandmother of Kiara Pedersen, Brianna Phillips, Evan Phillips; and loving sister of Susan Myers Walker (Thomas), Michael Myers (Patsy), and the late Charlie Myers (Marjorie).

Lorraine was a dedicated Mother who stayed at home when her children were young but did work several jobs as her kids got older. Lorraine was last employed at Thompson Packers of Slidell where she was a data processing clerk. She loved sewing, leather working, and was an excellent cook. Lorraine also enjoyed gardening, raising rabbits and chickens, and attending flea-markets. Her most recent hobby was quilting.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell. A funeral service will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Lorraine will be laid to rest in her hometown of Prosser, Washington at a later date.
