Obituary of Tessi Rae Johnson

Tessi Rae Johnson, of Pearl River, Louisiana, passed away on November 16, 2021 at the age of 39.  She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on August 3, 1982 to her loving parents, Theresa C. Johnston (Melburn “Bernie” Johnston Sr.) and Timothy Gerard Johnson.  Tessi is the beloved wife of eight years to Lionel G. “Jerry” Ducote Jr.; cherished mother of Marae Eisler, Braélei Ducote, Taytum Ducote, and Kielyn Ducote; stepmother of Austin Ducote and Paul Pineda; sister of Tia Johnson and Timothy Gerard “TJ” Johnson Jr.; and stepsister of Melburn “BJ” Johnston Jr. and Ryan Johnston.  She is also survived by her only grandmother, Janice Collins; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her special, dear friend, Jameria Williams, whom was there with her until the end.

Tessi attended Chalmette High School with the Class of 2001 and was a self-employed cosmetologist.  She had a passion for doing make-up, hair, and nails and loved making others and herself look good. Tessi adored nothing more than her daughters and spending quality time with them.  She never missed the opportunity to spend the holidays with them, which was a time she always treasured. Tessi will forever be remembered for her big heart, selfless personality, and her ability to make everyone laugh with her silliness.  Tessi will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Pentecostal Church located at 388 Robert Blvd in Slidell.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com
