Obituary of Tammy Lynn Schwartz Famiglio

Loving wife, mother, and nana, Tammy Lynn Schwartz Famiglio, passed away on March 25, 2022 at Ochsner Medical Center. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on August 7, 1964 to the late Lawrence Schwartz Jr. (Mary) and Lana Bogan. She is preceded in death by her son, Samuel Lawrence Famiglio; her sister, Michelle Schwartz; and father-in-law, Richard V. Famiglio (Debbie).

She is survived by her loving husband, Wesley Charles Famiglio; sons, Stefan Michael Famiglio (Ashley) and Simon Joseph Famiglio (Leslie); great-niece, Serenity Powell; grandchildren, Sebastian Famiglio, Aiden Famiglio, Everett Famiglio; siblings, Ronda Schwartz Marse (Donovan), Daniel Schwartz (Chrystal), Michael Schwartz, Richard Famiglio, John Famiglio (Kendra), Beth Famiglio Liebert (Gary), Ashley Famiglio Johnson (Garrett), and Sheri Dilenkoffer (Darren); mother-in-law, Frances L. Bresler (Patrick); and many aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Tammy spent her life as a devoted wife to Wesley. She treasured her children, Stefan, Simon, and Samuel, and she embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. When Tammy’s first grandson, Sebastian came along, it began a whole new chapter for her. A few years later, the blessing of two more grandsons, Aiden and Everett, just completed her world. Spending her time with her grandsons was the ultimate joy in her life. “Ninja Nana”, as her grandsons called her, was always right in the mix of silliness and mayhem with them.

Tammy loved spending time baking, especially during the holidays, always putting a little twist on Grandma Brown’s famous sugar cookies.  She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Tammy had a passion and talent for gardening. Her magical green thumb made every flower she touched perfectly beautiful. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Tammy. She loved quiet evenings outside on her backyard deck with family, enjoying her gardens.

Tammy’s beautiful smile could fill any room with kindness and compassion. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Tammy will be desperately missed by all those she left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was truly a blessing.
