Obituary of Philip H. Reis Jr.

Philip H. Reis Jr., of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on May 20, 2022, at the age of 79. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on September 5, 1942, to the late Philip H. Reis Sr. and Bernadine C. Reis.

Philip is the beloved husband of 22 years to Gayle W. Reis; cherished father of Penny Reis DeLuca (Chris), Emmett M. Reis, Peggy R. Lewis (Chris), and the late Philip H Reis III; caring stepfather of Herbert Weysham III (Marsha), Stanton Weysham Sr., and Cheri W. Vogel; adored grandfather of Kristie and Emily Reis, Gillan, Paige and Jacob Lewis, Kayla Beaulieu (Mark), Alissa Vogel, Stanton Weysham Jr., Herbert Weysham IV, and William Troupe; proud great-grandfather of Larissa and Arielle Daigle, Harper Rose Powell, and Owen, Autumn, and Evan Troupe; and treasured brother of June R. Porcuna.  Philip also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom he loved dearly. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Bernadine R. Fairchild, Melvin J. Reis Sr., and Michael B. Reis Sr.

Philip was a mechanic by trade and was employed with U-Haul International. After retiring, he enjoyed movies, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing with his fur baby, Jingles. Philip was a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.
