Obituary of Alec J. "Mugs" Mulvihill
Alec J. "Mugs" Mulvihill, age 28, of Mandeville, Louisiana, entered new life on June 13, 2022.
Born on October 10, 1993, Alec served as a New Orleans Fire Department firefighter as well as on the Lee Road Fire Department in Covington, LA. He previously was employed with the St. Tammany Fire District #4 in Mandeville, LA and began his firefighter interest as a cadet with the Peotone Fire Department in Peotone, Illinois.
Alec was baptized at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chicago and attended Christ Community Church in Peotone, IL until his relocation to Louisiana.
Alec is survived by his mother, Kirsten Steeves of Peotone, IL; his father, James W. Mulvihill, of Venice, FL; brothers, Carter Mulvihill (wife, Julia) of Naperville, IL and Drew and Colin Mulvihill of Venice, FL; sisters, Teddi Steeves of Fulton, MO; Mia Steeves of Oxford, MS; and Meg Mulvihill of Venice, FL; maternal grandparents, William and Patricia Benner of Peotone; paternal grandmother, Patricia Mulvihill of Bradley; girlfriend, Alyssa Vogel of Mandeville, LA; uncles, Brent Benner (wife, Cindy) of Valrico, FL and Timothy Mulvihill (wife, Robin) of Oswego, IL; great-aunt, Barbara McNabney of Champaign, IL; great-uncle, Les Jones of Bluffton, SC; and numerous cousins and friends.
He is also survived by his beloved dog, Blaze.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James W. Mulvihill Sr.; cousins, Mitchell Mulvihill and Zachary McNabney; aunt, Judith Hadders; and uncle, Thomas Mulvihill.
A funeral service, with Pastor Eric Klemme officiating, will be held at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Slidell, LA on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a funeral service, officiated by Rick Selk, at Christ Community Church in Peotone, IL on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Alec will be laid to rest in Peotone Cemetery following services. A reception will follow at the Peotone American Legion.
