Obituary of Luke Commare
Kevin Lucas “Luke” Commare, beloved son, brother, husband and father, passed away on June 14, 2022, at the age of 39. He grew up in Johnsburg, Illinois and lived in many places along the way, but settled with his family in Mandeville, Louisiana. Luke leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his wife of 15 years, Terrie (Sharman) Commare; four children, Kade, Caleigh, Briggs, and Palmer; his parents, Joan M. Commare and Kevin M. Commare; and two sisters, Colleen (Kirk) Cashmore and Breanne (Jon) Drobac.
Luke graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School in 2001. He went on to Northern Michigan University to play football and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Communications in 2005. After college, Luke began his career in the television advertising business in Tucson, Arizona, where he met his wife, Terrie. In 2009, Luke took a job with Hearst Television, relocating his family to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Over the next 10 years, he continued to lead Broadcast Sales Teams across the country. Luke and his family loved experiencing all the places and people they met along the way…calling Burlington, Vermont; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Albuquerque, New Mexico, home. In late 2019, Luke, Terrie, and the kids moved back to Louisiana where they co-founded Nova Media Team.
When he was not in a suit, you could find Luke playing, watching, cheering, and betting on almost any sport, but football and baseball held a special place in his heart. Luke took pride in watching his children play volleyball, soccer, football, and especially Knights Knation Baseball games, supporting them with all his heart. He also appreciated classic cars and loved watching anything that made him laugh. Luke was the best at keeping it light with funny one-liners, movie impressions, or just being silly. Luke will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
