Abdulla Mark Ahmed, known to all as Chuck, a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was 69 years old. Ahmed; daughter, Lauriel Ahmed Powell (Anthony); stepson, Craig Martin Haydel; stepdaughter, Tiffany Lynn Washington; grandchildren, Mackinleigh Bella Johnson, Israel Jackson Powell, Morgan McKenzie Haydel, and Craig Haydel Jr.; sisters, Aliema Maria Gueringer (Glen) and Keriema Theresa Ricard (Allen); and extended family and friends.
Chuck attended St. Augustine High School and transferred to St. Aloysius /Cor Jesu, which merged to become Brother Martin High School. He was the first multi-cultural student to graduate from Brother Martin in 1970. During his Naval Service, Chuck was stationed aboard the USS Newport News and the USS Independence CV62. Chuck was also a very dedicated employee of Texaco Exploration and Production Company (Chevron) for 35 years before his retirement.
Chuck enjoyed motorcycles, cars, watching westerns, and most of all, music, especially the 70’s hits. He was such a kind-hearted man who always showed love to those who knew him. His great sense of humor brought much laughter to anyone who graced his presence. His beautiful spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
